The development of the Ambit GC Carbon handlebar started with a very clear objective: how can a handlebar reduce the load on the rider without compromising on control? The answer lies in the handlebar’s patent-pending oval geometry, which specifically absorbs high-frequency vibrations while maintaining stiffness where it is needed for precise steering. With the Ambit GC carbon handlebar, Ambit Components offers an innovative solution for enduro and downhill riders that combines precision with noticeably greater comfort than conventional carbon handlebars. The more intensive and longer the use, the more noticeable the effect:
“After four days of riding in Finale Ligure, my hands still felt fresh – the oval shape absorbs vibrations, reducing fatigue and making the ride noticeably smoother.” – Markus Reiser, Ambit R&D Team
The in-depth development process included both laboratory tests and extensive field tests with experienced athletes. In comparisons with conventional round carbon handlebars, the Ambit GC showed over 25 % more flex without compromising steering precision. The findings from these tests were directly incorporated into the further development of the handlebars in order to perfectly meet the requirements of demanding riders.
The supplied oval-to-round aluminum shim ensures secure mechanical locking in conventional 35 mm stems. This system guarantees reliable clamping even under high loads in tough racing conditions.
The Ambit GC carbon handlebars will be available from 20.03.2025.
