Ambit Components started as a brand in 2023 with pedals and stems “made in Bavaria”. Ambit Components’ headquarters in Oberammergau was strategically chosen: In the immediate vicinity, there are ideal conditions for extensively testing the company’s own products under real conditions. The latest products from Ambit were also tested together with the team riders until they were ready for series production. Now rims, wheels, chainguides, top caps and handlebars are being added to round off the portfolio.
Swen Lauer, Head of Engineering, always places great importance on innovation and real added value for riders: “From the very beginning, our strategy was to develop not just for riders, but with riders. The result is products with genuine innovations. For example, the rims have a particularly wide rim flange, which has shown a reduction in snakebites of up to 50% in our tests.” The pedals were already launched on the market with patented features: they have a rotation brake with which the rotation movement can be continuously adjusted, offering riders extra safety when jumping and on the trails.
The components’ suitability for competition was proven at the latest during the Crankworx Festival in Innsbruck. Ambit athletes Bernd Winkler and Edgar Briole each took first place in the Speed & Style and the Whip-off Contest. Bernd Winkler was the first Austrian to take home victory – and was the first to ride the new Ambit rims at a public event. “Even before I rode for Ambit, the brand was already producing impressive products. As a rider, I can now contribute my feedback, I can help develop new components that will take me forward as a rider.”
